Reese Witherspoon

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon (born March 22 1976) is an American actress. Her many awards include an Academy Award, British Academy Film Award and Primetime Emmy Award. She also received two Golden Globe Awards. Time magazine and Forbes both have named her among the 100 most influential people across the world in the years of 2015 and 2006 respectively. In 2021, Forbes named her the world's richest actress with an estimated net worth of $400 million.Witherspoon began her career as a teenager, making her screen debut with The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, she appeared as an actor supporting in Cruel Intentions and played the role of Tracy Flick in Election. Her fame grew with her role as Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel in 2003, and for her role in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. Following a career downturn, where her sole box-office hit was the romantic comedy Water for Elephants (2011), Witherspoon made a comeback in the form of a producer and star as Cheryl Strayed in the drama Wild (2014) and earned her a second nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Since then, she has been heavily involved in television productions. She has also appeared in a number of female-led literary adaptations. They include the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017-2019) as well as The Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019-present) as well as the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere (2020). She won the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Limited Series for the very first time. She also directed the films adaptations Gone Girl (2014) and Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).Witherspoon also owns a clothing line, Draper James, and she is active in both women's and children's advocacy organizations.
